Description

ARTIST: Park Soo-Keun. Park Soo-Keun (1914–1965) is a celebrated Modern Korean painter. He was born in Jeongrim-ri, Yanggu myeon, Yanggu County, Gangwon Province. As a results of financial difficulties, the artist could not continue his education after he graduated from elementary school in 1927. Park did not have any formal art education, and so he was able to form his own style, which did not clearly belong to any particular genre. He used bold lines and simple shapes where depicting his subjects.
