We are looking for a Physician Assistant passionate about orthopaedics with a good work ethic to join our practice located in Los Angeles. Our team currently consists of an Orthopaedic Surgeon, Medical Assistants, Xray Technician, Manager, as well as Front Office Staff. Our practice specializes in shoulder surgery, sports medicine, joint reconstruction, and trauma. This is a full-time plus call, salaried position. The Physician Assistant will be working in clinic, hospital, and the operating room assisting our surgeon.


Days and Hours:


Regular clinic hours are Tuesday - Friday 9am - 5pm, Saturdays 10am - 2pm. The PA must also be available to assist in surgeries outside of these hours, round, and take calls as needed (usually 1 week per month).


Job Duties include, but are not limited to:


In Clinic:


  • Perform physical exams, record findings, establishing presumptive diagnoses, and treatment plan
  • Perform and assist with clinical procedures such as injections and casting
  • Order appropriate laboratory or diagnostic procedures
  • Handle phone calls from patients
  • Call in orders to hospital for patients
  • Help with paperwork for forms required by patients


In Hospital/Operating Room:


  • Arrive before scheduled cases to identify patient, help positioning, and make sure all instruments are ready
  • Assist the surgeon during procedure
  • Assist with wound closures, fitting of braces or casts, post op order, transferring patient to post op area
  • Make hospital rounds as required
  • May be on call for emergencies after hours and weekends if needed


Requirements:


  • Certified Physician Assistant and licensed in California
  • Knowledge of professional medical practice, medical instruments, drugs, etc.
  • Bilingual in Korean and English
  • Previous experience in orthopaedic practice is a plus, but not required


Compensation:


Salary to commensurate with experience
